TEXAS A&M INFORMATION

2025-2026 Admissions Cycle

The freshman application for Spring and Fall 2026 opened on August 1. As your students begin planning for the admissions cycle, we wanted to provide you with a few updates:

Early Action Deadline for Engineering Eliminated

Effective immediately, the Early Action Deadline (EAD) for applicants to the College of Engineering has been eliminated.

To avoid any confusion around deadlines during Texas Free Application Week (October 13–19) and the old Early Action deadline of October 15, we've decided to remove the Early Action option. Don't worry—everyone applying to the College of Engineering will still get full and fair consideration, no matter when they submit their application during the regular application period.

Important Updates on Application Acknowledgement

Please notify your students who applied using the Common App that we will begin sending application acknowledgements on August 22.

For those who applied through ApplyTexas, it’s possible they have already received the application acknowledgement letter. Be assured that those who applied through the Common App will not be disadvantaged in the admissions process because of the difference in timing.

Your students should not submit a second application through ApplyTexas. This will create duplicate records and result in processing delays.

UT INFORMATION

EARLY ACTION DEADLINE – OCTOBER 15
Students who apply by the Early Action deadline will receive a decision by January 15, which may include deferral to our February 15 regular deadline decision date. The regular application deadline remains December 1. Supplemental materials must be received by October 22 for Early Action consideration and December 10 for regular decision.

SAT/ACT SCORES
SAT or ACT scores are required to be considered for admission to UT; however, the ACT Science section is not required. Just as with supplemental materials, all test scores must be received by December 10.

Texas 4-year Public Colleges Offering Free Tuition

Participating Texas colleges included in this document offer free tuition based on family/household income (parent and student). This guide was created in January of 2024. We will send you an updated one if it comes out soon. For now, read through it and see what they have to offer. CLICK THE PICTURE TO VIEW THE BOOK.

FREE UNIVERSITY APPLICATIONS

The second full week of October — October 13–19, 2025 — is officially Free College Application Week. During this time, you can apply to Texas public colleges and universities for undergraduate admission without paying an application fee.

BUT REMEMBER....some of you already qualify for fee waivers for free applications. JUST ASK! This is only good for Apply Texas applications.
