College Applications
College admissions portals are now LIVE! 

Apply Texas Portal: Apply to schools in Texas at www.applytexas.org.

The Common Application: Apply to colleges in 49 states and the District of Columbia, as well as in Canada, China, Japan and many European countries. Go to www.commonapp.com.

Dual Credit Enrollment Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 Courses
You may continue with the enrollment process at this time. Contact your College Now coordinator for more information. 

Admissions Testing
TSIA: At this time, all TSIA testing is on hold until further notice.

SAT/ACT: Registration is now open for both assessments. You may hhave to travel to surrounding districts to take the test. You can sign up using www.sat.org or http://www.act.org

You are HIGHLY encouraged to sign up for one or both of these tests. If you are on free or reduced lunch, email your College Now Coordinator to receive a fee waiver code. Please include your name and PISD ID.

Studying for SAT/ACT:  Use your extra time to put in some extra practice for the ACT at https://academy.act.org. Practice for SAT at www.khanacademy.org.

Financial Aid
The 2021-22 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) opens on Oct. 1, 2020. 

Create an FSA ID: https://fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index.htm.

Harris County Promise
The new timelines for C;lass of 2021 have not been determined yet. Information will be available at www.harriscountypromise.org or

Virtual College Advising
ADVi is a new virtual tool to support college advising from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. ADVi is a chatbot – free to use (data and message rates may apply based on the user's mobile phone plan) – that can answer college questions via a text message or web chat 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Check it out on askadvi.org.

Request an Advising appointment from San Jacinto College
Go to http://appointments.sjcd.edu/.
    Select "Campus: (you can choose South or Central, either can help you)"
    Select "Department"
    Select "Reason for Visit"
    Select "Advisor- you can select anyone (then click the yellow “select” button on right)"
    Select "Appointment Date" (then click the yellow “select” button on right)
    Select "Appointment Time" (then click the yellow “select” button on right)
    Fill in your personal info, San Jac G#, and your contact info (make sure you type it correctly!)
    Select "Book Appointment"

University/College Updates: Check your future university/college website for their most updated information.

Application Fee Waivers: Many colleges/universities are still accepting waivers but may request both student and counselor/CNC signature and will be submitted electronically. Contact your College Now Coordinator for more information..
