SoHo Students Win Top 3 in Congressional Art Competition

Three South Houston High School students took the top-three spots in the Congressional Art Competition out of the five awards given.

Evyn Ponce

1st place went to Evyn Ponce, who's art will be displayed in the Capitol building in Washington, D.C., for an entire year, and his family will receive a free trip to the capitol.

2nd place was awarded to Selina Chamorro.



Hugo Escajeda

3rd place was won by Hugo Escajeda.

SHHS Congratulates Teachers and Paraprofessional of the Year

Timothy Laza and Madeline Pool were voted Teacher and New Teacher of the Year, while Leticia Banda was voted Paraprofessional of the Year on Mar. 11. Laza teaches social studies and coaches golf, while Pool is a new teacher who teaches Theatre Tech. Banda is a longtime paraprofessional on the campus.

Advanced Placement (AP) students who scored a 3, 4 or 5 on their AP Exams last Spring were rewarded for their hard work and dedication to excellence by receiving checks of $100 to $500 on Dec. 10. We would also like to give a special thanks to PISD and our School District Board for their unwavering support of our students and our school.

How To Get Transcripts and School Records

Pasadena Independent School District is now offering a secure site for former students, corporations, post-secondary institutions, and military recruiters to request records online.

Per the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), if the student is 18 years of age or older, student records will only be released to the student.  In order for records to be released to another individual, the student must provide written consent and a copy of the student’s state issued ID.
